The Barcelona Nightlife Scene
Barcelona's nightlife starts late and is geographically split by crowd type. The Born and El Raval handle the bar-hopping hour from 10pm to 1am. Eixample's Gaixample strip runs LGBTQ+ venues on Carrer del Consell de Cent and surrounding streets. For clubs, Poble Sec's Carrer de Blai and the Passeig Marítim mega-venues start filling after 1am. Barceloneta beach clubs operate in summer only.
What you'll pay
El Born bars charge no entry and a draught beer runs €3 to €5. Club entry in the Rambla del Poblenou area runs €10 to €20 depending on the DJ night; Pacha and Razzmatazz charge €15 to €25 with a drink included. In Gaixample, entry is typically free before midnight with a drink purchase. Budget €40 to €60 for a full night including travel, two entries, and four drinks. Prices verified April 2026.
Best nights to go
Thursday is Barcelona's student and pre-weekend night; bars in El Raval are fuller than average and the clubs are cheaper before midnight. Friday and Saturday are peak but clubs do not fill until 1am, which catches tourists off guard. Sunday closes most commercial clubs early. Summer changes the equation: Barceloneta beach bars extend Friday into Saturday morning and weekend prices at the bigger venues rise 20 to 30 per cent.
