The Medellin Nightlife Scene
El Poblado and Laureles split Medellín's nightlife along socioeconomic lines that are worth understanding before you go. El Poblado's Parque Lleras concentrates the tourist-facing bars and clubs within two blocks; Laureles' Carrera 70 runs longer and louder, with a crowd that is mostly Colombian. The two districts are 20 minutes apart by taxi.
What you'll pay
Cover at El Poblado clubs runs 15,000 to 30,000 COP. Beers at bars on Calle 9+1 cost 4,000 to 6,000 COP; cocktails at rooftop spots on Parque Lleras push 18,000 to 25,000 COP. On Carrera 70 in Laureles, drinks are cheaper across the board: aguardiente shots at 3,000 COP, Club Colombia beers at 5,000. A realistic full night from 9 pm to 3 am lands around 80,000 to 130,000 COP. Prices verified April 2026.
Best nights to go
Saturday is the strongest night in both districts: Dulce Jesus Mio on Carrera 70 reaches capacity and the live salsa sets at Son Havana start around 10 pm. Thursday draws a younger local crowd to El Poblado. Friday works if you want the full Laureles experience without competing with the Saturday party-bus contingent.
