A tiny village in the hills above Hvar Town, Brusje is where locals go to escape the tourist chaos. There’s one konoba (traditional restaurant) and a handful of guesthouses, but no nightlife. The views over the island and sea are stunning, and it’s a 15-minute taxi ride from the town centre if you fancy a break from partying.

Hvar’s most famous club is split between a beachfront daybed lounge and a high-energy nightclub. By day, it’s all about rosé and sea views. By midnight, DJs spin house and techno until sunrise. Entry is 100-150 HRK, but hostels often sell discounted tickets. Dress to impress: this isn’t a flip-flop venue.

Start your night here with sunset cocktails and a reggae soundtrack. The crowd is a mix of backpackers and yachties, and the vibe stays chilled until around 22:00, when the music shifts to house. Drinks are pricey (70-90 HRK), but the view over the Pakleni Islands is worth it. Happy hour runs from 17:00-19:00.

It’s a five-minute walk from the main square, so it’s easy to stagger back to your hostel afterwards.

A tiny, grungy bar tucked down a side street, Kiva is where locals and backpackers mix over cheap shots (20 HRK) and rock music. It’s standing-room-only by 23:00, and the crowd spills onto the street. If you’re not into clubbing, this is the place to pre-game or end your night.

Hvar’s only LGBTQ+ friendly club, Pink Champagne is a small but lively spot with drag shows, karaoke, and pop remixes. It’s open from 23:00 until the last person leaves, usually around 05:00. Entry is free before midnight, 50 HRK after. The crowd is friendly and up for a laugh: expect dancing on tables by 02:00.

A laid-back spot on Bonj beach, Falco is perfect for daytime drinking and sunset sessions. The music is a mix of chill house and acoustic sets, and the crowd is a relaxed mix of travellers and digital nomads. Cocktails cost 60-80 HRK, and there’s a small menu of seafood snacks. It’s a 15-minute walk from the town centre.
