Pub Crawls in Playa Del Carmen

Playa del Carmen's pub crawl circuit is Quinta Avenida, the pedestrianised fifth avenue that runs for two kilometres from the ferry terminal to the northern beach clubs. The format here is straightforward: the street does the work.

Quinta Avenida — universally called Quinta — is pedestrianised, lit all night, and lined with tequila bars, clubs, and beach-access venues for its entire length. Calle 12 and Calle 10 mark the high-density bar section closest to the ferry terminal and the beach; the clubs and beach clubs extend north past Calle 38. Alux Restaurant and Lounge, built inside a natural cave system on Av. Juárez, is the singular venue that does not fit the Quinta template. The pub crawl format works here in a way it does not in every coastal resort: the street is genuinely walkable, the venues are diverse within a small area, and the beach access that distinguishes Playa from Cancun is a ten-minute walk from any point on the strip. Cancun's Hotel Zone, forty minutes north, runs a different and more expensive circuit that pub crawl operators rarely extend to.

The Playa Del Carmen Nightlife Scene

Quinta Avenida between the ferry terminal and Calle 38 is Playa del Carmen's nightlife in two kilometres of pedestrianised street. The high-density bar section runs between Calle 10 and Calle 20. Beach clubs extend north of Calle 30. Everything is walkable from any Quinta hotel or hostel.

What you'll pay

Best nights to go

Friday for the most consistent crowd. Thursday for a local-facing version of the same street. Saturday draws commuters from Cancun and adds to the density. All three nights work; the beach clubs north of Calle 30 only justify the walk on Fridays and Saturdays.

Best Night to Go

Thursday through Saturday are all operational on Quinta, with Friday drawing the most consistent mixed crowd of travellers and Mexican domestic visitors. Thursday is underrated: the beach clubs at the north end of Quinta run their week's most local-facing crowd on Thursdays, and the central section of the strip is at its most walkable. Cancun visitors frequently commute to Playa for the Quinta circuit on Saturdays, which adds to the crowd density but also to the energy. The dry season (December to April) runs all nights at a higher intensity than the rest of the year.
