The Nice Nightlife Scene
Nice's nightlife runs almost entirely through the Old Town's streets south of Place Masséna. Rue de la Préfecture and Rue Droite hold most of the bars within a ten-minute walk of each other. High Club on Avenue de la Victoire is where the night ends for most people. The crowd skews backpacker and French student in summer, much more local from October.
What you'll pay
Drinks in Old Town bars run €5 to €7 for a beer, €9 to €12 for cocktails. During happy hour at Shapko Bar on Rue de la Préfecture, cocktails drop to €7. Cover at High Club is €10 to €15 depending on the night and what time you arrive. A realistic evening including four drinks and club entry runs €35 to €50. Prices verified April 2026.
Best nights to go
Saturday draws the biggest crowd and High Club runs its longest sets. Thursday in shoulder season is worth knowing: the backpacker-to-local ratio flips in favour of locals, and the smaller bars on Rue Droite feel less managed. Avoid Sunday: most Old Town bars close by midnight and High Club does not run every Sunday.
