The Hoi An Nightlife Scene
Hoi An runs short nights. Ancient Town closes to vehicles at night, which makes the alley bars genuinely walkable, but most venues on Le Loi and Nguyen Thai Hoc Streets wrap up by midnight or 1am. The exception is An Bang Beach, three kilometres outside town, where the clubs stay open until 2am and the crowd mixes backpackers with Vietnamese locals who drove out for the night.
What you'll pay
Beers at bars in Ancient Town cost 25,000 to 40,000 VND. Happy hour at Le Loi Street spots runs from 5pm to 8pm and often halves the price. Beach clubs at An Bang charge 80,000 to 120,000 VND per drink; some apply a minimum spend of 100,000 VND for a sun lounger. A modest evening from 6pm to midnight, starting in town and finishing at the beach, costs around 150,000 to 300,000 VND (£5 to £10). Prices verified April 2026.
Best nights to go
Friday and Saturday are the nights the beach clubs fill up and Ancient Town stays open past midnight. Weeknights feel quieter, particularly Sunday through Tuesday. April and May are the sweet spot before the summer rains arrive: beach venues operate at full capacity and the evenings are dry.
