The Adriatic Riviera's longest party strip runs 15km of beach clubs, outdoor venues, and late-night bars from June to September, with Rimini as its capital.
Annual summer season. The Riviera Romagnola beach club circuit is effectively inactive October to May.
Rimini is the hub of the Riviera Romagnola, a 110km stretch of Adriatic coast running south through Riccione, Cattolica, and into the Marche region. The beach is divided into numbered bagni (private beach clubs, each with their own sun lounger rows, bar, and restaurant) numbered from Bagno 1 at the northern end to past 150 at the southern. The clubs and bars behind the beach run parallel to it along Viale Ceccarini in Riccione and along the front in Rimini. Villa delle Rose in Rimini and Cocoricò in Riccione (operating since 1981) are the two longest-running clubs on the Adriatic coast and draw Italian DJs and international bookings through July and August.
This is Italian domestic tourism at its most concentrated: the Riviera draws 3-5 million visitors each summer, mostly from the Emilia-Romagna region and northern Italy. The international backpacker presence is smaller than on Spanish or Greek equivalents, but the infrastructure is outstanding: cheap accommodation in the residential streets behind the beach, the fastest train connections in Italy (Rimini is on the Bologna-Ancona line, 70 minutes from Bologna), and beach clubs that are genuinely well-run. The Cocoricò pyramid club in Riccione has hosted consecutive years of global DJ talent and is one of the defining outdoor club structures in Europe.

Day-by-day breakdown
Book a bagno in advance for a sun lounger (€15-30 per day for two loungers and an umbrella). The water is shallow and calm in summer; the Adriatic here has none of the undertow of the Atlantic or the Mediterranean's stronger currents. Beach bar aperitivo runs from 5pm: a Spritz or Aperol costs €6-9. The beach circuit between bagni is a continuous walkway for the full 15km of the Riviera.
Cocoricò in Riccione (25km south of Rimini, 30 minutes by train) is open from midnight; entry €15-25 depending on the booking. The pyramid structure is entirely outdoor in summer with a retractable roof. Villa delle Rose in Rimini opens at 11pm; entry €10-20. Both run resident and guest DJs playing commercial house and techno. The train from Rimini to Riccione costs €1.80 and takes 25 minutes: the last train back is around 1am; after that it is a taxi (€20-30).
