Ao Nang's strip of open-air bars and Railay Beach's monthly full moon gatherings give Krabi a two-location party circuit connected by a 20-minute longtail boat.
Krabi's nightlife splits between two locations. Ao Nang town has a walkable bar strip along Ao Nang 2 Road and the beachfront — Tonsai Bar, Last Bar, and Centra by Centara's beach club being consistent anchors — where fire shows run nightly and bars stay open until 2am. It draws a broad mix: divers, rock climbers who spend days on the walls of Railay and Tonsai, and island-hopping backpackers using Krabi as a transit hub. Drink prices are mid-range for Thailand: beers run 100–140 THB, cocktails 180–280 THB. The energy level is relaxed rather than intense; this is not Koh Samui.
Railay Beach is the second element. Accessible only by longtail from Ao Nang pier (20 minutes, 100 THB per person), Railay West has a cluster of beach bars that host full moon gatherings each month. The Rayavadee and Railay Bay Resort areas have more expensive bar terraces facing the sea. Railay East has a slightly grittier bar scene in the guesthouses behind the beach. The last longtails back to Ao Nang run until midnight on most nights; on full moon nights some operators extend to 2am. The rock-climbing community based around Tonsai Beach (accessible on foot from Railay West at low tide) runs its own lower-key evening scene at Freedom Bar and Pyramid Bar.

Day-by-day breakdown
Longtail boats to Railay depart from Ao Nang pier every 15–20 minutes from 7am until around midnight. The 20-minute crossing crosses the bay past limestone karst stacks. Railay West beach is the arrival point; Railay East is a 3-minute walk across the narrow peninsula. Rock climbing on the Tonsai walls starts from 7am — Basecamp Tonsai and King Climbers both rent gear and run beginner courses for 1,500–2,000 THB. The 4 Islands boat trip from Ao Nang (600–800 THB) is a standard day option that includes snorkelling at Ko Poda and Ko Kai.
Fire shows on Ao Nang beach run from around 9pm opposite the main beach road. The strip along Ao Nang 2 Road is walkable in 20 minutes end to end. On full moon nights, take the longtail to Railay: the party there is smaller than Koh Phangan but the setting — white sand hemmed by limestone cliffs — is more dramatic. Bars on Railay West run beach bonfires and DJs from 10pm. Last longtails back to Ao Nang on full moon nights run until 2am.
