On 13 June 2026, the 25th anniversary A State of Trance event comes to Van Phuc City in Ho Chi Minh: Armin van Buuren and the ASOT trance lineup in their largest ever Vietnamese production.
A State of Trance is a global trance music brand run by Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren, and the 2026 edition marks its 25th anniversary, which the organisation is marking with a series of major international events across multiple continents. The Vietnam edition on 13 June takes place at Van Phuc City in Thu Duc district, a large outdoor venue in Ho Chi Minh's eastern urban fringe accessible by taxi from the city centre in approximately 30 minutes. The event is a single-day outdoor festival running from approximately 5pm to midnight, with the ASOT Radio Show broadcast live from the stage alongside the full DJ lineup.
Vietnam's electronic music scene has grown rapidly in recent years, with Ho Chi Minh City developing a club infrastructure centred on the Bui Vien walking street area and newer venues in the District 2 Thao Dien neighbourhood. The ASOT event represents the largest international trance production to have taken place in the country. Ticket prices are high relative to Vietnamese costs of living but modest for international festival standards. The city itself is worth two to three days around the event: Ben Thanh Market, the War Remnants Museum in District 3, and the rooftop bars on Nguyen Hue Walking Street cover the key tourist infrastructure. Hostel dorm beds in the backpacker area around Pham Ngu Lao street run USD 5–12 per night.

Day-by-day breakdown
Van Phuc City opens gates at 5pm. The afternoon is time in the city: the War Remnants Museum on Vo Van Tan Street in District 3 is the most visited museum in Vietnam and requires around 90 minutes. The Thao Dien area in District 2, accessible by taxi across the Saigon Bridge, has the city's most international restaurant concentration and is 15 minutes from the event venue. Grab taxis (the Southeast Asian ride-sharing standard) are cheap and reliable in Ho Chi Minh: the 12km from the backpacker area to Van Phuc City costs around 80,000–120,000 VND.
The event runs until approximately midnight. The return to the city by Grab takes 30–45 minutes depending on post-event traffic. Bui Vien Walking Street, the backpacker nightlife spine, runs clubs and bars until 2am; it is loud, crowded, and entirely tourist-facing. The better option for an after-party is Lush on Ly Tu Trong Street in District 1, which runs electronic music until 3am. Observatory club in Binh Thanh district is the city's most respected venue for underground electronic music and operates from 10pm to 4am.
