Marina Grande

The old fishing village at the base of Sorrento’s cliffs. Colourful boats bob in the harbour, and seafood restaurants spill onto the beach. It’s quieter than the historic centre but has a handful of beach bars that stay open late in summer. Walk down **Via Marina Grande**: it takes about 15 minutes from the centre.

Sant’Agnello

A residential area 20 minutes’ walk east of Sorrento. It’s where you’ll find budget hostels and campsites with sea views. The nightlife is minimal, but the **Corso Italia** extension has a few local bars and a gelateria that stays open until midnight. Good for travellers who want to save money but still be close to the action.

A two-floor Irish-Italian hybrid on **Via Santa Maria della Pietà**. The ground floor is all wooden booths and Guinness on tap; upstairs turns into a late-night bar with cheap cocktails and a mixed crowd of backpackers and expats. Live music: usually acoustic covers: starts at 22:00 most nights. Happy hour runs 18:00–20:00, with €3 pints and €4 Aperol spritz.

Tiny shot bar tucked off **Via San Cesareo**, specialising in €1 limoncello shots and €2 mixers. The owner, Marco, keeps the energy high with shot challenges and 90s dance tracks. It’s standing-room only after 23:00, so arrive early if you want a stool. Open until 2:00 on weekends.

Outdoor terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples, perfect for sunset spritz. The crowd is a mix of hostel guests and Italian couples. Aperol spritz costs €5, and the bar snacks: olives, bruschetta: are free with drinks. Gets busy from 19:00, so grab a table early.

Wine bar on **Via Fuoro** with 50+ Italian labels by the glass. A glass of local Lacryma Christi costs €4, and the staff will let you sample before you buy. Small plates: think cured meats and local cheeses: are €6–€8. Quieter than the bars on Corso Italia, so it’s a good spot for a low-key evening.

Late-night pizzeria on **Via San Cesareo**, open until 1:00. A whole margherita costs €6, and the slices are €2.50. The place is tiny: just a counter and a few stools: so most people grab takeaway and eat by the harbour. Expect a queue after midnight.
