Main Beachfront Strip

A 500-metre stretch of sand where the island’s only road meets the sea. Bars, hostels, and warungs line the shore, with music pumping from 8 a.m. till 2 a.m. The harbour is at the southern end, and the quieter north starts near Club Love.

Inland (Near the Main Strip)

A grid of dirt paths five minutes’ walk from the beach. Cheaper warungs, minimarts, and hostels like M Box and Jati Hostel are here. Nadin Store, a budget traveller’s lifeline, is on one of these side streets.

North Gili T

The island’s quieter side, starting 15 minutes’ walk north of the harbour. Fewer bars, more guesthouses, and better snorkelling spots. The Gili Beach Club is the main nightlife draw here.

The island’s unofficial backpacker HQ. Reggae and drum & bass play all day, and the happy hour (4–8 p.m.) serves £1.50 cocktails. By midnight, the sand is packed with people dancing in bare feet. Expect fire dancers after 11 p.m. on weekends.

A two-storey beachfront bar with pool tables and a rooftop terrace. The crowd is mostly 20-somethings from Australia and Europe. £1 Bintangs during happy hour, £2.50 after. Gets loud around 10 p.m. when the live band starts.

The only venue with a proper dance floor and DJ booth. Plays house and techno from 11 p.m. till 3 a.m. Entry is free, but drinks cost £3–£4. The crowd is a mix of backpackers and locals. Five-minute walk north of the harbour.
