Canada's largest LGBTQ+ ski festival takes over Whistler Blackcomb for a week each January: ski racing, slope parties, apres events, and nightly club nights across the village.
Whistler Pride and Ski Festival has run since 1995, making it one of North America's longer-established LGBTQ+ winter events. The festival uses Whistler Village as its base, with Whistler Blackcomb's two mountains providing the ski terrain. The festival pass covers access to hosted events, race bibs, and club nights in Garfinkel's and Maxx Fish; it does not include lift passes, which are purchased separately. Lift passes for Whistler Blackcomb are among the most expensive in Canada: budget CAD 225–275 per day at the window, or approximately CAD 130–180 on advance season pass rates.
Whistler Village is purpose-built and pedestrian: the main accommodation cluster, ski-out runs, bars, and restaurants are all within a 10-minute walk. The festival's social hub is the Village Stroll and the Skiers Plaza at the base of the Whistler gondola. January temperatures in Whistler average -5 to -10°C at village level and -15 to -20°C at peak elevation (2,182m); appropriate ski clothing is not optional. Snow conditions in January are typically the season's best, with Whistler Blackcomb averaging 11 metres of annual snowfall.

Day-by-day breakdown
The festival opens with a welcome reception in the Village Stroll area, typically a free-standing afternoon event with drinks and entertainment from around 3pm after the mountain closes at 3:30pm. The first day is orientation: collect your festival pass wristband at the registration point (location published on gaywhistler.com the week before), locate your accommodation, and ski the main Whistler Gondola and Peak Express lifts on the first full day. The race course setup on the Ego Bowl run is visible from the gondola.
The ski race is held on the Ego Bowl run off the top of the Whistler Gondola. Open to all skill levels with separate categories, the race draws around 300 participants. Race registration is included with the festival pass. Apres begins at 3:30pm at the Longhorn Saloon on the Village Stroll. The apres circuit moves from the Longhorn to Garfinkel's to Maxx Fish as the evening progresses. The Club Med Pool Party (separate ticket, typically CAD 60–80) runs on race night and is the festival's highest-attendance single event.
