Four days of free outdoor jazz in Warsaw's Old Town market square and along the Vistula waterfront, drawing 100,000 attendees across a programme of Polish and international acts.
Warsaw Summer Jazz Days began in 2003 and has grown into one of Poland's most attended free music events, using the reconstructed Old Town market square (Rynek Starego Miasta) as its main stage. The square holds around 8,000 and fills for evening headliners. A second stage operates on the Vistula riverbank below the Old Town, accessible by the steps from the Castle Square or by walking down to the Wybrzeże Gdańskie riverside boulevard. The programme mixes mainstream jazz, Latin jazz, soul, and blues across four days, with the most experimentally focused sessions routed to club venues in the Praga district across the river.
Warsaw in July averages 24–26°C with long evenings: sunset after 9pm means outdoor shows run in full daylight until 9:30pm, which alters the atmosphere compared to most European festival nights. The Old Town is fully pedestrianised during the festival and dense with café terraces and food stalls from midday. Hostel accommodation in Warsaw's Old Town and the Śródmieście (city centre) district runs PLN 60–100 (£12–20) per dorm bed, making it among the most affordable capital cities in the EU. The metro line 2 connects the western districts to the city centre, with Nowy Świat-Uniwersytet station a 10-minute walk from the festival main stage.

Day-by-day breakdown
The festival opens on Thursday evening. The market square stage starts at 6pm with local Polish jazz acts, building to a headliner around 8:30pm. Thursday is significantly less crowded than the weekend days: arriving at 7pm gives a central position without queuing. The surrounding cafés on the square (U Fukiera, Kompania Piwna) have outdoor terraces that provide a partial view of the stage without entering the standing area.
Saturday runs the strongest programme across both stages simultaneously. The Vistula riverbank stage is active from 4pm, with the Old Town stage running from 6pm. The riverside Bulwary (waterfront promenade) is popular throughout the day independently of the festival: food trucks and bars run the full stretch from Świętokrzyski Bridge north to the Old Town steps. The headliner slot on the market square runs 9–11pm. Post-concert, the Praga district clubs across the Poniatowski Bridge pick up from midnight.
