The original Ultra. Three days of electronic music at Bayfront Park, 165,000 people, and Miami in late March at its most chaotic and most fun.
Annual. Typically the last weekend of March. 2026 dates approximately 27–29 March; verify on the official site as exact dates are confirmed in autumn 2025.
Ultra Music Festival was founded in Miami in 1999 and remains the flagship event of the Ultra brand: the original from which Ultra Europe (Split), Ultra Korea, and Ultra South Africa all derive. It takes place at Bayfront Park, a waterfront park in downtown Miami, directly adjacent to Biscayne Bay. The main stage faces the water. The site is 30 minutes' walk or 15 minutes by rideshare from the South Beach hostel cluster.
The programming covers the full spectrum of electronic music: the main stage draws the biggest names in EDM; the Resistance stage programmes techno and underground house; the Live Stage features artists performing with live instruments. Tickets sell in tiers from November: the earliest presale tiers are consistently the cheapest by a significant margin. Day tickets are released later.
Ultra weekend coincides with college spring break across the eastern United States, which means Miami in late March is operating at its maximum social intensity. South Beach hostels are at capacity. Prices across the city reflect this. Book accommodation and festival tickets well before the February mark.
The afterparty ecosystem is the second chapter of Ultra Miami: separate club events run every night of the festival weekend across Miami Beach and Wynwood, often featuring the same headliners in a smaller club setting. These events are where the real crowd (and many of the artists) goes after 11pm. Tickets typically sell out within hours of announcement. Prices verified March 2026.

Miami International Airport (MIA) is 10km from South Beach. Rideshare and taxi to South Beach takes 25–40 minutes depending on traffic. Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) is 40 minutes north and often offers cheaper flights: rideshare or shared shuttle to Miami Beach runs regularly.
Day-by-day breakdown
Gates open Friday afternoon. The Friday crowd is slightly smaller than Saturday and Sunday: use this to your advantage to explore the site, identify the stage positions, and find the Resistance tent (typically a separate enclosed area with ticketed entry in some years: check the current year's format). The Friday night headliner on the main stage typically performs around 11pm.
Saturday is the biggest day of Ultra Miami. Gates open from midday. The South Beach area is at maximum density on Saturday afternoon as festival attendees and general spring break crowd overlap. Arrive at Bayfront Park by mid-afternoon to avoid the entry queue peak. The main stage Saturday night headliner is the most commercially prominent act of the weekend.
Sunday's programming typically includes a distinctive closing set: Ultra is known for its Sunday night surprises and extended b2b (back-to-back) sets by major artists. The crowd is slightly smaller than Saturday but the energy is often the highest of the three days. After the festival closes, the Miami afterparty circuit begins: club events across South Beach and Wynwood running until 6am.
