Walking Street's kilometre of open-air clubs and go-go bars runs every night of the year, starting quietly at 8pm and peaking from midnight to 5am with a crowd that has come from every corner of the world.
Year-round. No seasonal variation in nightlife activity. Peak accommodation prices around Christmas and New Year (December 20 to January 5).
Walking Street (officially Pattaya Walking Street, South Pattaya) is a 1km pedestrianised strip that operates as Southeast Asia's most concentrated nightlife zone. It is closed to motor vehicles from 6pm to 6am. Every building on the street functions as a bar, club, or entertainment venue. The range is wide: rooftop bars, live music venues, go-go bars, Thai boxing shows, and large clubs playing commercial dance. Insomnia, at the southern end, is the largest club, with a capacity of around 2,000. Marine Club and Mixx Discotheque are the other main options.
Walking Street's reputation is well-established and specific. It is not the same as Koh Phangan or Koh Samui's beach party circuits. The crowd here is older on average, more international, and more mixed in intent. Beer Chang on Walking Street costs 80–120 THB; cocktails 200–350 THB; whisky by the bottle is popular at the club table-service end. The surrounding Pattaya Beach area (north of Walking Street, along Pattaya Beach Road) has a separate, more relaxed bar and restaurant strip running parallel to the sea.

Day-by-day breakdown
Pattaya Beach Road runs 3km along the bay and is the daytime and early-evening base: beach bars, seafood restaurants, and the baht bus (songthaew) system that runs up and down for 10 THB per person. Dinner from a seafood restaurant near the beach: 200–400 THB for a full meal. Walking Street starts filling from 9pm but does not get properly busy until 11pm. Early entry to clubs (before midnight) is sometimes free; after midnight most clubs charge 200–500 THB entry.
Insomnia Club at the south end of Walking Street is the main large-venue option: 2,000 capacity, commercial house and hip-hop, international DJs on weekend bookings, running until 5am–6am. Marine Club and Mixx are slightly smaller with a similar music policy. The live music bars in the middle of Walking Street (rock and pop covers) peak from 10pm to 1am and are a distinct, somewhat calmer option. Baht buses (10 THB) run along Pattaya Beach Road all night.
