Long Beach's cluster of bungalow bars hosts monthly full moon gatherings and a steady nightly scene that runs quieter and cheaper than Koh Phangan without sacrificing the fire shows.
Koh Lanta's full moon nights centre on Long Beach (Hat Khlong Dao), where a string of bungalow bars and beach clubs set up fire spinners, DJs, and extended bar hours from around 9pm. Attendance is measured in hundreds rather than the tens of thousands at Koh Phangan: this is the same concept at one-tenth the scale. The crowd skews toward divers, long-stay travellers, and people who specifically chose the quieter island. The atmosphere is unhurried and the prices are consistent with the rest of the island rather than spiking for the occasion. Rasta Baby Bar, Same Same Bar, and Fusion Bar anchor the main stretch of Long Beach, each running its own sound system. Fire shows typically run from 10pm to midnight.
The nightly bar scene outside full moon operates on a low-key rotation along Long Beach and Klong Nin Beach in the south. Klong Nin has a smaller cluster of bars with a more local feel and significantly less tourist traffic. The Old Town pier area on the east coast has a separate evening scene that runs on the Lanta Old Town night market calendar, typically Thursday and Saturday. Getting between the beaches requires a scooter or a songthaew, as the island is 30km long and there is no through-bus. Most hostels rent scooters for 200–300 THB per day.

Day-by-day breakdown
Hire a kayak from Koh Lanta Sea Kayak near Saladan pier for 300 THB and paddle the mangrove channel on the island's north end before the midday heat peaks. Back on Long Beach by 3pm, the bars set out their floor cushions and hammocks from around 4pm. Happy hour runs from 4pm to 7pm at most Long Beach bars: beer at 60–80 THB, cocktails at 120–160 THB. Eat at one of the beach-adjacent restaurants before 8pm; prices and portions are better than the bar food later in the evening.
Fire spinners start at 10pm at Rasta Baby Bar and Same Same Bar. The beach fills gradually from 9pm; unlike Koh Phangan there is no single crowd surge, so you can walk the length of the bar strip and choose your spot without being swept along by a crowd. On full moon nights, several bars string coloured lights along the shoreline and the combination of fire, beach, and near-total quiet beyond the bar radius is what makes this island's version of the event worth doing. Last bars close around 2am; most wind down by 1am. Tuk-tuks back to Klong Nin or Klong Dao run until around midnight.
