Koh Phi Phi’s nightlife kicks off at sunset on Loh Dalum Bay, where fire dancers spin flames metres from your table and buckets of SangSom rum go for 250 THB. The hostel scene is small but loud: just three or four places account for most of the backpacker beds, and they all sit within a ten-minute walk of each other along the island’s only sandy paths. Voyagers Hostel packs its dorms every night for the bar crawl, while Blanco Beach Bar runs its own boat party straight from the shore. There are no roads, so you’ll be walking barefoot past 7-Eleven torches and reggae bars to get from one end of the village to the other.

Organised nights out with a local guide
A nightly crawl that visits three bars, each with a free drink included. The group meets at Blanco Beach Bar at 21:30, then moves on to Slinky Bar and finishes at Club Love. Expect 50–100 people, mostly backpackers. No need to book: just turn up.
A half-day boat trip that stops at Monkey Beach, Maya Bay, and Viking Cave. The boat has a DJ, cheap drinks (100 THB beers), and a dance floor. Snorkel gear is included. Departs at 13:00, returns at 19:00: perfect if you want to party on the water.
How Koh Phi Phi's nightlife zones break down
The island’s only settlement, squeezed between two bays. The main drag is a 500-metre strip of bars, hostels, and tattoo shops. At night, the path is lit by neon signs and the smell of barbecue. Most hostels here are a five-minute walk from the pier.
A half-moon beach directly opposite Tonsai Village. The sand is soft, the water is warm, and the bars spill onto the shore. By day, it’s a place to sunbathe; by night, it’s the island’s main party zone. You can wade across to Tonsai at low tide.
A 20-minute long-tail ride from Tonsai, Long Beach is a quieter stretch of sand with a handful of beachfront hostels. The nightlife is limited to a couple of reggae bars, but the snorkelling is better and the sunsets are just as good.
Where the hostel pub crawls end up, and where to go on your own
Starts as a daybed beach club with DJs spinning house, then morphs into a full-blown hostel party by 22:00. The bar crawl leaves from here at 21:30 sharp: free shots at the first three stops. Expect a mix of 20-something backpackers and a few older travellers who still remember the 2004 tsunami.
The only place on the island with a proper sound system and a raised dance floor. Reggae and drum & bass until midnight, then commercial EDM takes over. Cocktails are 180 THB, buckets 250 THB. Gets sweaty by 01:00: bring a change of shirt.
A thatched beach shack that packs 300 people onto a sand dance floor. Blacklights, glow sticks, and a sound system that rattles your ribs. Entry is free before midnight, 200 THB after. The crowd is 90% backpackers, 10% locals looking to dance.
A two-storey hostel with a pool in the middle of the bar. Day parties run 14:00–20:00, entry 200 THB with one free drink. DJs play house and techno, and the pool is small enough that you can talk to everyone. Dress code: swimwear and smiles.
The original Phi Phi pub crawl, running every night of the week. Meet at Voyagers at 21:00, then hit three bars: each with a free drink. The crawl ends at Club Love around 01:00. Tickets are 400 THB if you book through the hostel, 500 THB on the door.
A branch of the famous Bangkok bar, set in a wooden shack on the beach. Happy hour 18:00–20:00: 90 THB beers, 150 THB cocktails. Live DJs every night, and a fire show at 22:30. The crowd is mostly 25–35, so it’s a bit older than Club Love.
A reggae bar with bean bags on the sand and Bob Marley on repeat. Cheapest buckets on the island: 200 THB for a full litre of rum and mixer. Opens at 16:00, but the real action starts after midnight when the fire dancers come out. Cash only.
